Nea Ion aid station table layout

Image + Text

Suggested placement for hydration, nutrition and medical triage at the busiest mountain aid point.

Aid station team

Separate water and nutrition tables by at least one table length to avoid backtracking. Medical needs a clear corner with direct radio access and visibility toward the incoming trail. Keep refill stock behind the volunteer line rather than next to the runner corridor.

This point serves multiple races, so restock before the first Semi pack arrives.

Late-runner escalation at Nea Ion

Text

How to manage runners arriving close to cut-off and the final descent window.

Checkpoint Staff

Record bib numbers of runners arriving inside the final 20 minutes before cut-off. Notify race HQ with the runner count, visible condition and departure time toward the descent. Do not dispatch runners alone if weather closes in; pair them with sweep or course marshal support when instructed by HQ.

Use the mountain radio first; mobile coverage is unreliable in the hut area.
